Bring them Back!

Bring them Back! is a newly created campaign by "Artclick.com" regarding the Reunification of the Parthenon Marbles. In 1806, a passionate antiquites collector, Count of Elgin, removed  half of the decorating part of the Frieze and many sculptures, too. The main argument of the British Side, before the construction of the New Acropolis Museum, was that Greece could not protect this world heritage... Now what?

Long time no see

Many months have passed since I wrote in this blog. Seems like ages!! Sorry for not replying in messages and generally for not participating so much... Many changes took place in my life and having less and less spare time, I wasn't able to be as much active as I wanted to. Furthermore, UYCW was dissolved unfortunately..  But that belongs to the past.

Okay then!

STOP IT!

About this commitment: Consomme moins de papier
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

1 Million tonnes of paper every day...

HUGE NUMBER RIGHT?
Well... read the following:
300 year old trees in Helsinki were cut down to produce paper...

A HUGE amount of the paper we consume every day ends up in carbadges and baskets.....

LET'S STOP IT! WE ARE SHOUTING FOR THE OXYGEN WE WILL MISS AND WE PRODUCE SO MUCH USELESS PAPER. WE USE SO MUCH USELESS PAPER. THERE ARE WAYS TO STOP THIS:

-Print everything you want double-sided.
-Stop picking up advertising leafletsrn
-Recycle as much paper as you can.
-Use as much recycled paper as possible
-Inform others about the problem
-Promise the above: http://tigurl.org/hn2ayx

2009 our anticipations, our trials....

Hey there!
2008 was a difficult and demanding year for all of us. Our nerves got tested with the oil prices, with the financial crisis, with the american elections, to mention but a few. Our eyes saw images like hungry children in Burma and the fights in Tibet. We were astonished by watching the Olympic Games of 2008 in China and of course proud of the athletes taken part, especially those in the Paralympic ones. Of course, we cannot forget the health crime in China with the melamine found in milk and the attack in India.

As a result, we cannot name 2008 as a bright year with joy and happiness and of course we could not characterize it as a terrible one. But what should we expect in 2009?

Let's hope....
  • that the conflicts in Gaza will stop
  • that the oil prices get down
  • that Obama make the change
  • that the American Soldiers will return back to their homes
  • that the economy rise up
  • that we have less AIDS victims
  • that developed countries help the African countries
  • that there aren't be any conflicts between neighbour countries
  • that people are less hungry than before
  • that at least one of the endangered species become safe
  • that the Amazon forest grow bigger
Most of the above things will happen if we try to achieve them. We are one people, let's make the change!
